    The 31st match was held between Delhi daredevils vs. Kolkata knight riders which was played at kingsmead Durban. The toss was won by Kolkata knight riders who first chose to bat first. Knight riders opening batsman Van Wek scored 74 runs and Mc Colum, Hodge and Henriques played well and contributed 30 odd runs each. The reached to a score of 154 with 7.70 runs per over with a loss of 3 wickets. Sangwan took 2 wickets for his team. Gambhir and Warner opened the match for Delhi Daredevils Gambhir and Warner took 71 runs and 36 runs each. They reached the score of 157 runs easily with 8.26 runs per over. With just a fall of 1 wicket, Delhi won the game. Gambhir was the man of the match.

  • Rajasthan crushes Punjab

    The 30th match of Indian Premier League season 2 was played between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan Royals who won the toss elected to bat first. Ojha and Smith gave a wonderful opening partnership of 135 runs off just 14.5 over. Jadeja also added to it. Rajasthan finished with a whooping huge score of 211 runs at the rate of 10.55 runs per over with a loss of just 4 wickets. This was considered as the biggest score ever in IPL season 2. Punjab started facing hardships right from the beginning. Their opener Sohal went for a golden duck in the very first ball of their innings. Skipper Yuvraj scored around 48 runs off 37 balls. Punjab managed to score only 133 runs in their stipulated 20 over. It was a huge victory for Rajasthan Royals. Smith, who scored 77 runs, was declared man of the match.

    The 29th match of Indian Premier League was played between Chennai super kings and Deccan Chargers at Buffalo Park. Chennai, who gave a blowing start, continued their magic with bat and raised a huge total of 178 with loss of just 3 wickets. This created a huge pressure of Deccan Chargers. Playing with huge pressure, Deccan Chargers started losing wickets at regular intervals. With 8 single digit score, including 3 golden ducks, Deccan surrendered for 100 runs in just 14.4 over. It was a easy win for Chennai Super Kings. Smith managed to score 49 runs off 23 balls for Deccan chargers. Chennai skipper Dhoni who scored 58 runs off 37 balls was judged as Player of the Match.

    The 28th Match of Indian Premier League season -2 was played between Royal challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. Right from beginning Mumbai struggled to score huge. With Jayasurya and Bravo scoring half centuries, the Mumbai Indians scored a decent score of 149 for the loss of 4 wickets. Royal Challenger, who lost Jaffer, continued playing well. With Uthappa and Kallis scoring more than 60 each, the Royal Challengers scored their 150 runs target in just 18 over. Kallis who scored 69 off 59 balls was judged the Player of the match. It was a easy victory for Bangalore against Mumbai Indians.

    The 27th match of Indian Premier League was played between Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders at St. George Park, Port Elizabeth. Kolkata who won the toss elected to bat first. Right from the beginning Kolkata struggled to face Punjab’s bowling attack. Run rate was tickling slowly. But sooner Hodge joined with Ganguly to boost the run rate to over 7.5. Kolkata finished their quota of 20 over scoring 153 runs. Punjab who lost their first wicket in first over, managed to score well. Jayawardene and Katich contributed a good performance. Poor performance from the skipper Yuvraj made the easy match a triller for Punjab. But Punjab still managed to win with a finishing touch from Pathan.

    The 26th match of Indian Premier League was held at New Wanderers stadium, Johannesburg between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi daredevils. Dhoni won the toss for Chennai Super Kings and elected to bat first. The top order batsmen displayed classics with their bat and piled a huge total of 163 for loss of all wickets in just 18.3 over. Delhi daredevils who managed a decent start with Warner scoring 52 started losing wickets on one side. Later Karthik added another 50 more. With Three golden ducks Delhi stumbled and was able to score only 145 in 20 over. Jakati who took 3 wickets including that of Warner and Karthik was judged as the man of the match.

  • Rajasthan Wins over Deccan

    The 25th match was held in St George’s park port Elizabeth between Deccan chargers vs. Rajasthan royals. Deccan chargers won the toss and elected to bat first. They started with Gibbs and Gilchrist. Gilchrist made 39 runs, while Gibbs made just 8. Suman got 41 runs. Harwood of the Rajasthan picked up two wickets for his side. Finally Deccan chargers made 141 runs in 7.05 runs per over. With 142 runs as a target Rajasthan royals’ innings started with Smith and Asnodkar. Both the batsman dint scores anything. It was only Raut, Warne and Jadeja who score some runs for the team and led the path to victory. With the loss of 7 wickets the Rajasthan made it through victory. RP Singh, Venugopal Rao got wickets for their team. Finally the Rajasthan won by 3 wickets. YK Pathan was given the player of the match award.

    The 24 the match was between Royal challengers Bangalore vs. Kings X1 Punjab which was played in Kingsmead, Durban. This is a day/ night match. Royal challengers won the toss and started to bat first. Ryder and Goswami dint bat well as they just made 12 runs together. The top scorer for royal challengers was Van Der Merwe who scored 35 runs. The royal challengers put up a score of 145 runs with 7.25 runs per over. Yuvraj bowled very well and took 3 wickets. YA Abdulla too picked up 4 wickets. Punjab started their batting with Yuvraj Singh and Goel. Yuvraj played well for his 50 runs. There was a big middle order collapse and no other batsman played well. This was one of the worst performances of kingX1 Punjab. The player of the match was given to Yuvraj Singh who hit 4 huge sixes and 3 fours. The Royal Challengers won by 8 runs.

    The 23rd match of the Indian Premier League was between Kolkata knight riders and Mumbai Indians. This math was played at Buffalo Parl, East London. The toss was won by Mumbai Indians who chose to bat first. The Mumbai team started the game with Jayasurya and Tendulkar as their opening batsman. Jayasurya made just 6 runs and Tendulkar made 34 runs. Duminy was the hard hitter and got 52 runs in 37 balls. The team reached to a score of 148 runs. Sharma, Dinda, Karthik, Agarkar, Gayle and Hodge took one wicket each. Kolkata was riding on the losers way as they lost most of their matches wanted a win to gain confidence bust still they dint manage to reach the target. They reached just 139 runs and failed to meet the required run rate of 7.40 per over. Zaheer Khan took 3 wickets. The Mumbai Indian won by 9 runs. JP Duminy from mumbai Indians was given the man of the match award, which included 4 sixes and one four.

    The 22nd match of the Indian premier league was between Chennai super kings and Rajasthan royals. This match was held in Super Sports park, Centurion. This match is a day/ night match, one of the most expected match. Rajasthan won the toss and first chose to field first. Chennai openers are Patel and Hayden. Patel lost his wicket for 3 runs and Hayden lost for 1 runs. However Raina scored 98 runs with just 55 balls which was a big score. Dhoni made 22 runs. A total of 164 were made by the Chennai super kings. The run rate was about 8.20 runs per over. Pathan and Patel took 2 wickets to the credit. Rajasthan royals innings was a big middle order collapse, most of their batsman dint fair well. They managed to make just 126 runs. Balaji picked 4 wickets, Morkel and Oram made took 2 wickets. S Tyagi started with the debut in this match. Finally Chennai super kings won with 38 runs. Suresh Raina of Chennai Super Kings was given the man of the match award.
