    The 41st match of the Indian premier league was between Royal Challenger Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders. This match was played at supersportpark, centurion. The Royal Challengers won the toss and chose to field first. The Kolkatta Knight riders started well with McCullum scoring 84 runs. Hussy made his best with 43 runs. At the end of the 20 over for the loss of 4 wickets the team scored 173 runs to their credit scoring about 8.65 runs per over. Vinay Kumar scored 2 wickets for his team. The second inning started of with the Bangalore team with Ryder and Challis both played for 20 odd runs each and lost their wickets easily. Taylor played a fabulous game and scored a smashing 81 runs in just 33 balls with 7 fours and five sixes. Karthik picked up two wickets for his team. Finally the Bangalore team won by 6 wickets with the run rate of 9.16.they completed their target in 19.2 overs. Taylor was given the man of the match award

  • Smith does it again for Deccan

    The 40th match was an exclusive game with Deccan Chargers and Rajasthan Royals played at De Beers Diamond oval, Kimberly. Deccan Chargers won the toss and chose to bat first. Smith gave his wonderful performance scoring 47 runs in just 32 balls. Suman and Vass scored 20 odd runs. Finally they scored about 166 runs with the run rate of 8.30 per over. Pathan took 3 wickets for the team, Jadeja took 2 wickets. With 167 runs are the target Rajasthan Royals started the batting with Asnodkar and Smith. Only Asnodkar scored 44 runs the other batsman in the team dint do well and lost their wicket for 113 runs in 19.3 over. Sharma picked 3 wickets for Rajasthan Royals. Deccan Chargers won the match by 53 runs. DR Smith of the Deccan Chargers was given the man of the match award.

    The 39th match of the Indian Premier League was between Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders. This match was played in New Wanderer’s stadium, Johannesburg. The daredevils won the toss and chose to field first. The Kolkata started the batting with McCullum and Ganguly scored 44 runs while McCullum made just 6 runs. The middle order batsman did not perform well and made just 123 runs with a run rate of 6.15 runs per over. Nehra and Nannes picked up two wickets, while Mishra picked 3 wickets. With the target of 124 runs, Gambhir and Warner opened the match for Delhi. Warner scored 36 runs; Villiers scored 40 runs and led the team to success. With the loss of 3 wickets in 17.1 over they reached the target easily. The man of the match was given to Mishra of the Delhi daredevils.

    The 38th match of Indian Premier League season-2 was played between two costly teams, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at St. George’s Park, Port Elizabeth. Yashpal Sharma was the referee for the match. Mumbai Indians who won the toss elected to bat first. Though it lost its skipper Sachin for a duck, Jayasurya, Rahane and Duminy joined hands to raise the score to 157 runs with a loss of just 2 wickets. Bangalore started stumbling right from the beginning. They started losing wickets at regular intervals. Boucher managed to score 48 runs off 33 deliveries. Bangalore was able to score only 141 runs in 20 overs. So Mumbai Indians won the game by 16 runs.

    The 37th match of IPL season 2 was similar to final match of IPL season -1, except for the result. Last season runners Chennai Super Kings faced defending champions Rajasthan Royals at De Beers Diamond Oval. Rajasthan won the toss and elected to bat first. Chennai Super kings who are considered to have strong batting lineup had to bowl first. Rajasthan could not stand the spin balls. Wickets started falling at regular intervals. Rajasthan got 140 runs in 20 over for the loss of 7 wickets. Spinners’ Muralitharan and Jakati took 2 wickets each. Chennai as usual opened their runs account well. Hayden scored 48 runs off 44 balls. Badrinath contributed 59 runs off 41 balls. Chennai won the game for the loss of just 3 wickets in 18.2 over. Badrinath, who scored 59 runs off 41 balls was declared the Man of the Match.

    The 36th match of Indian Premier League Season-2 was played between Deccan Chargers and Kings XI Punjab at De Beers Diamonds Oval, Kimberley. It was a hot and sunny day. Kings XI Punjab won the toss and invited Deccan Chargers’ to bat first. Deccan’s gave a decent start, although wickets were falling at regular intervals. One of the highly paid players of IPL season-1, Symonds scored 60 runs off 38 deliveries. Bret Lee, Sreesanth, Chawla and Mota picked one wicket each. Deccans’ scored 164 runs in 20 over for a loss of 5 wickets. Top order players of Punjab displayed good batting skills. There was a steady flow of runs. Deccan’s tried almost 8 bowlers, but in vain. Punjab ceiled the match with one ball to spare. Jayawardene, who scored 43, was declared man of the match.

    The 35th match was between Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians played at Buffalo Park East London. Mumbai Indian won the toss and chose to bat first with Bravo only scored 35 runs other lost their early wickets and landed up with the score of 116 runs with the run rate of 5.80 runs per over. Bhatia took 3 wickets and Nannes and Nehra took 2 wickets each for the daredevils. Gambhir and Warner opened the batting for Delhi team and reach the target very easily. AB De Villers took 50 runs in 38 balls and lead the team to victory. The bowler outperformed the batsman this time and Nehra was given the man of the match award. It was a fabulous game to enjoy.

  • Hayden does it again for Chennai

    Chennai super kings faced the kings X1 Punjab on the 34th match played at Supersports Park Centurion. Chennai super kings won the toss and chose to bat first. Hayden played well for his 89 runs and Dhoni also made 56 runs in just 27 balls. With the loss of 3 wickets the team managed to score 185 runs with 10.27 runs per over. With the target of 187 runs per over Kings Punjab played well but failed to meet the asking run rate. Yuvraj Singh played well for 58 runs and Jayewardene for 44 runs in 25 balls.174 runs in 18 over is all that they could make. Hence the Super kings won by 12 runs by D/L method. The player of the match was given to Hayden for his brilliant stroke with 6 sixes and 8 fours.

  • Rajasthan proves to be real Champions

    The 33rd match was between Royal challengers Bangalore vs. Rajasthan royals played at Supersport park, centurion. Rajasthan royals won the toss and chose to field first. Almost all the royal challengers batsman did not play well and loss their early wickets. The scored a total of 105 runs and lost all wickets. A. Singh took 4 wickets. Rajasthan was the best at their bowling. 106 was a easy target and Rajasthan made it quite comfortably Ojha made 52 runs. Smith and Pathan scored 20 odd runs and made their victory very easily. The run rate was around 7.13 runs. The player of the match was A Singh. This match was a clean sweep by the Rajasthan royals. They outperformed the challengers in all aspects of the game.

  • Deccan shocks Mumbai

    The 32nd match was played between Deccan chargers vs. Mumbai Indians at Super sports Park, Centurion which is a day/ night match. Deccan chargers won the toss and chose to bat first. Sharma was the leading scorer with 38 runs, and other in the team also contributed well. Finally they came to a score of 145 with 7.25 runs per over. The Mumbai Indian started their bating with the usual combination of Jayasurya and Tendulkar. Both the batsman returned to the back scoring less runs. It was only Duminy who scored 52 runs. All other batsman dint does well. Hence they lost 8 wickets scoring only 126 runs. RG Sharma took 4 wickets and was the man given the man of match award. It was the excellent bowling attack by the Deccan chargers. Mumbai Indian failed to win because of their batting performance.
