    The 49th match of the second edition of Indian premier league was played between Kings XI Punjab and Deccan chargers. Deccan chargers won the toss and chose to Field. This match was played at the New Wanderers stadium at Johannesburg. Kings XI Punjab opened their innings with Sohail and Katich who didn’t play well and just got a few runs on the board. Sangakkara played well for 56 runs and finally the team scored 134 runs RP Singh picked up 3 wickets for the team. The Deccan chargers started well with Gilchirst scored 23 runs of 13 balls. Sharma played well for his 42 runs in 26 balls. The chargers played well and managed to get 133 runs. Yuvraj Singh picked 3 wickets for his team. The player of the match was Yuvraj Singh.

    It was no surprise in the 48th match of Indian Premier League, which was played between Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders. Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to field. Although Ganguly played slow with a strike rate of about 80.48, Kolkata Knight Riders managed to score 160 runs in stipulated 20 over with a loss of 5 wickets. Hussey contributed well with his bat, scoring 43 runs off mere 17 balls with a strike rate of 252.94. Deccan who gave a decent start with Gilchrist scoring 43 runs in 31 balls. Rohit Sharma who came in the 17th over fired the balls off the boundary. With 2 sixes and 3 fours, Rohit Sharma scored 32 runs in mere 13 balls to finish a victory for Deccan Chargers.

    The 47the match was between Chennai super kings vs. Mumbai Indians. This match was played at St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth. The toss was won by Mumbai Indians. Jayasurya gave a good opening of 30 runs in just 17 balls. Duminy made 62 runs in 54 balls and the team reached the score of 147 runs in 20 over with the loss of 5 wickets, the run rate of 7.35 runs per over. Chennai super kings opened the batting with Patel and Hayden. Hayden played well and made 60 runs, other batsmen in the team also contributed well for their team. With the loss of 3 wickets the team made a comfortable win. Hayden was given the man of the match award.

    The 46th match of the Indian premier league was played at the Out Surance Oval, Bloemfontein. This was a day and night thrilling match between Delhi daredevils and kings XI Punjab. Gambier and Sehwag opened the batting and failed to do well. The middle order also dint play well and got only a few runs for the team. The team just made 120 runs with the run rate of just 6.00. Lee picked 3 wickets, Iran Pathan and Sreesanth picked 2 wickets for the Punjab team. It was a easy target for Punjab, Katich made 20 runs while Yuvraj made 43 runs. Sangakkara made 21 runs in 11 balls. Maharoof took 2 wickets for the team. It was a easy win for the Punjab. Bret lee was given the man of the match award.

    The 45th match was between Mumbai Indians vs. Rajasthan royals. Rajasthan won the toss and chose to bat first. Quiney and Smith opened the batting. Quiney made 51 runs and made credit to the team. Jadeja too made 42 runs as well. Finally the team made 145 runs with the run rate of 7.25 runs per over. Jayasurya made 2 wickets for his team. Bravo and Takawale opened the inning for Mumbai Indians. Tendulkar and Nayar scored well. Mumbai Indians made 143 and lost all their wickets. Rajasthan won by 2 runs. The man of the match was won by Warner.

    The 44th match was between Royal challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super kings. Chennai super kings won the toss and chose to bat first. Vijay and Hayden opened the batting for Chennai. Hayden as usual makes 60 runs in just 38 balls. Raina and Dhoni made 13 and 18 runs respectively. The middle order collapsed. Finally Chennai made 129 with a run rate of 6.55 runs per over. Kumble, Vinay Kumar, Kallis took 2 wickets for Bangalore. With the target of 129, Uthappa and Kallis opened the batting and dint fare well. Taylor and Kohli held the inning and scored well and reached the target in 19.4 over with the loss of 8 wickets. Morkel and Oram picked two wickets each. Taylor of royal challengers won the player of the match award.

    The 43rd match was held between Deccan Chargers and Delhi Daredevils. This match was played at Kings’ Mead, Durban. This was a fun filled day and night match. Deccan charges won the toss and elected to field first. Gambier and Warner started the match for Delhi team. The openers did not perform well. However, Dilshan and Villiers played well and scored well. Karthik played well for his 44 runs with just 23 balls. For the loss of 7 wickets Delhi scored 173 runs with 8.65 runs per over. Deccan chargers started their second inning with Suman and Gilchrest. Gilchrest scored well for 64 runs with just 33 runs left. Others batman failed to play well. Deccan chargers lost their entire wickets. Delhi Daredevils won by 12 runs. It was a thrilling match it was a delight to watch the match.

    The 42nd match was held between KingsXI Punjab vs Mumbai Indians. It was a day/ night match which was played at Supersport park, centurion. KingsXI Punjab won the toss and elected to bat first. Sohal and Katich started the bating for Punjab. Katich lost his wicket soon. Sohal played well for his 43 runs. The middle order collapsed as well. Finally the team scored only119 runs with just 5.95 runs per over. Duminy picked two wickets for his team. Mumbai Indians started with Jayasurya and Bravo. Bravo scored well with 70 balls with just 59 runs. They got winning runs with ease. Lee and Chula picked one wicket each. Harbhajan Singh was awarded the man of the match for his amazing bowling.
