The Indian Premier League second edition has always been a fun filled cricket plus entertainment which kept the entire cricket fan waiting for the match to be enjoyed. This entertainment was experienced in South Africa and it was the great chance for the people to enjoy the live match. The first match was between the Chennai super kings vs. the Mumbai Indians which was held in Newlands, Cape Town. The toss was won by the Chennai super kings who first chose to field first. The Mumbai Indians was put to bat first and opening players were Srilankan player Jayasurya and our very own little master Tendulkar. Jayasurya was out with 26 runs and gave his wicket to thushara. Next Dharwan made 22 runs and lost his wicket to Gony. The best performance was by AM Nayar with 35 runs with just 14 balls. Sachin scored 59 runs and was the strong pillar on the other side. Finally the score card was 165 runs with the loss of 7 runs scoring 8.25 runs per over. It wasn’t a easy score to get for the super kings, when they started to bat Patel returned to the pavilion without scoring any run, Raina too dint perform well. It was only Hayden who managed to get 44 runs, and Dhoni also made 36 runs and could not make it to the target. The managed to get only 146 runs with 7.30 runs per over. Mumbai Indians won by 19 runs. The man of the match was Sachin Tendulkar. It was a disappointing opening match by the super kings who were the runners up last year.
