This match was held in the new wanderer’s stadium Johannesburg. It was a fun filled man with huge excitement. These two teams faced a big blow last season and it was a joy for them to see themselves in the finals. The toss was won by the royal challengers and they chose to field first. Gilchrist and Gibbs started the inning for the Deccan. Gilchrist lost the wicket early facing just 3 balls. Gibbs played well for 53 runs, Symonds scored 33 runs. The team managed to score 143 runs in their 20 over with the loss of 6 wickets. Kumble magical spin gave him 4 wickets. With the target of 143 runs, 7.15 RPO was needed by the challengers. Kallis and Pandey stared the innings. Pandey lost his wicket scoring 4 runs. Only Taylor managed to score 27 runs. Royal challenger’s batsman collapsed and lost their wicket to the chargers. After 20 over, the team scored 137 runs with the loss of 9 wickets. The Deccan charger won the trophy against Royal Challengers by 6 wickets. It was a game of many thrilling moments. Deccan chargers won the match with a lot of team effort. The man of the match was given to Kumble. Adam Gilchirst won the player of the series award as well.

Most awaited first Semifinal
Posted on July 25th, 2009 1 commentThe excitement of the Indian premier has reached its heights. The first semi final of the 2009 series was played between Delhi Daredevil’s vs Deccan chargers. This match was played at the super sport park, centurion. The Deccan chargers won the toss and chose to field first. Gambier and Warner of the Delhi daredevils started the innings. They lost their wickets with without scoring anything. It was the tough time for Delhi team. However Dishpan played well for 65 runs and Sewag managed to get 39 runs, other members of the team lost their earlier wicket easily. The target set by the daredevils was 153 runs with the loss of 8 wickets. Harris picked 3 wickets for his team. The run rate needed for Deccan was over 7. Gilchirst played his great shorts and scored 85 runs and took the game off from the Delhi team. With the loss of 4 wickets the team scored 154 runs with the run rate of 8.71 runs per over. The team won by 6 wickets. Gilchrist the proud captain won the man of the match award.

Bangalore makes a strong entry to semi
Posted on July 20th, 2009 1 commentThe 56th match of the Indian premier league was between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Deccan Chargers. Bangalore chose to bat first after winning the toss. Royal challengers started their match with Kallis and Pandey. Pandey played extremely well for his 114 runs in 73 balls. The team managed to get 170 runs with the loss of 4 wickets. Ojha of the Deccan chargers picked up 2 wickets each. The target was 171 runs for the Deccan chargers. The Deccan innings started with Gibbs and Gilchrist, Gibbs scored well for his 60 runs in just 43 balls and Gilly made just 15 runs. The other batsman in the team dint score well and the team collapsed. The managed to get 158 runs after 20 over. MK Pandey won the man of the match award for the team.

It's Yuvraj again for Punjab

Deccan chargers won the toss and chose to Field. This match was played at the New Wanderers stadium at Johannesburg. Kings XI Punjab opened their innings with Sohail and Katich who didn’t play well and just got a few runs on the board. Sangakkara played well for 56 runs and finally the team scored 134 runs RP Singh picked up 3 wickets for the team. The Deccan chargers started well with Gilchirst scored 23 runs of 13 balls. Sharma played well for his 42 runs in 26 balls. The chargers played well and managed to get 133 runs. Yuvraj Singh picked 3 wickets for his team. The player of the match was Yuvraj Singh.

Knights lose again
Posted on June 23rd, 2009 1 commentIt was no surprise in the 48th match of Indian Premier League, which was played between Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders. Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to field. Although Ganguly played slow with a strike rate of about 80.48, Kolkata Knight Riders managed to score 160 runs in stipulated 20 over with a loss of 5 wickets. Hussey contributed well with his bat, scoring 43 runs off mere 17 balls with a strike rate of 252.94. Deccan who gave a decent start with Gilchrist scoring 43 runs in 31 balls. Rohit Sharma who came in the 17th over fired the balls off the boundary. With 2 sixes and 3 fours, Rohit Sharma scored 32 runs in mere 13 balls to finish a victory for Deccan Chargers.

Delhi clinches the thriller
Posted on June 5th, 2009 No commentsThe 43rd match was held between Deccan Chargers and Delhi Daredevils. This match was played at Kings’ Mead, Durban. This was a fun filled day and night match. Deccan charges won the toss and elected to field first. Gambier and Warner started the match for Delhi team. The openers did not perform well. However, Dilshan and Villiers played well and scored well. Karthik played well for his 44 runs with just 23 balls. For the loss of 7 wickets Delhi scored 173 runs with 8.65 runs per over. Deccan chargers started their second inning with Suman and Gilchrest. Gilchrest scored well for 64 runs with just 33 runs left. Others batman failed to play well. Deccan chargers lost their entire wickets. Delhi Daredevils won by 12 runs. It was a thrilling match it was a delight to watch the match.

Smith does it again for Deccan
Posted on May 25th, 2009 No commentsThe 40th match was an exclusive game with Deccan Chargers and Rajasthan Royals played at De Beers Diamond oval, Kimberly. Deccan Chargers won the toss and chose to bat first. Smith gave his wonderful performance scoring 47 runs in just 32 balls. Suman and Vass scored 20 odd runs. Finally they scored about 166 runs with the run rate of 8.30 per over. Pathan took 3 wickets for the team, Jadeja took 2 wickets. With 167 runs are the target Rajasthan Royals started the batting with Asnodkar and Smith. Only Asnodkar scored 44 runs the other batsman in the team dint do well and lost their wicket for 113 runs in 19.3 over. Sharma picked 3 wickets for Rajasthan Royals. Deccan Chargers won the match by 53 runs. DR Smith of the Deccan Chargers was given the man of the match award.

Head On collision
Posted on May 13th, 2009 No commentsThe 36th match of Indian Premier League Season-2 was played between Deccan Chargers and Kings XI Punjab at De Beers Diamonds Oval, Kimberley. It was a hot and sunny day. Kings XI Punjab won the toss and invited Deccan Chargers’ to bat first. Deccan’s gave a decent start, although wickets were falling at regular intervals. One of the highly paid players of IPL season-1, Symonds scored 60 runs off 38 deliveries. Bret Lee, Sreesanth, Chawla and Mota picked one wicket each. Deccans’ scored 164 runs in 20 over for a loss of 5 wickets. Top order players of Punjab displayed good batting skills. There was a steady flow of runs. Deccan’s tried almost 8 bowlers, but in vain. Punjab ceiled the match with one ball to spare. Jayawardene, who scored 43, was declared man of the match.

Deccan shocks Mumbai
Posted on May 1st, 2009 No commentsThe 32nd match was played between Deccan chargers vs. Mumbai Indians at Super sports Park, Centurion which is a day/ night match. Deccan chargers won the toss and chose to bat first. Sharma was the leading scorer with 38 runs, and other in the team also contributed well. Finally they came to a score of 145 with 7.25 runs per over. The Mumbai Indian started their bating with the usual combination of Jayasurya and Tendulkar. Both the batsman returned to the back scoring less runs. It was only Duminy who scored 52 runs. All other batsman dint does well. Hence they lost 8 wickets scoring only 126 runs. RG Sharma took 4 wickets and was the man given the man of match award. It was the excellent bowling attack by the Deccan chargers. Mumbai Indian failed to win because of their batting performance.

Chennai chrushes Chargers

Chennai, who gave a blowing start, continued their magic with bat and raised a huge total of 178 with loss of just 3 wickets. This created a huge pressure of Deccan Chargers. Playing with huge pressure, Deccan Chargers started losing wickets at regular intervals. With 8 single digit score, including 3 golden ducks, Deccan surrendered for 100 runs in just 14.4 over. It was a easy win for Chennai Super Kings. Smith managed to score 49 runs off 23 balls for Deccan chargers. Chennai skipper Dhoni who scored 58 runs off 37 balls was judged as Player of the Match.
