Posted on July 25th, 2009 1 commentThe excitement of the Indian premier has reached its heights. The first semi final of the 2009 series was played between Delhi Daredevil’s vs Deccan chargers. This match was played at the super sport park, centurion. The Deccan chargers won the toss and chose to field first. Gambier and Warner of the Delhi daredevils started the innings. They lost their wickets with without scoring anything. It was the tough time for Delhi team. However Dishpan played well for 65 runs and Sewag managed to get 39 runs, other members of the team lost their earlier wicket easily. The target set by the daredevils was 153 runs with the loss of 8 wickets. Harris picked 3 wickets for his team. The run rate needed for Deccan was over 7. Gilchirst played his great shorts and scored 85 runs and took the game off from the Delhi team. With the loss of 4 wickets the team scored 154 runs with the run rate of 8.71 runs per over. The team won by 6 wickets. Gilchrist the proud captain won the man of the match award.

Delhi makes it strong before semifinals

Delhi daredevils won the toss and chose to bat first. Mumbai Indians started their innings with Jayasurya and Tendulkar. Tendulkar played well for his 46 runs and held the innings in place. AM Rahane scored 56 runs off 32 deliveries. Finally the team managed to get 165 runs with the loss of 8 wickets. The Delhi team started the inning with Gambier and Warner. Gambhir made 47 runs, Sewag made 50 runs as well. The daredevils reached the target easily in just 17.3 over with the loss of 6 wickets. Harbhajan Singh picked 4 wickets for the Mumbai team. The player of the match was given to V Sewag.

Bangalore suprises Delhi

Gambir and Sewag started the innings. Sewag went back with the zero. Other batsmen managed to score some runs and brought the score about 134 runs with the loss of 7 wickets. Praveen Kumar took 3 wickets for his team. Royal challengers Bangalore started their inning and Kallis played well for his 58 runs. With the loss of 3 wickets, the team won the match scoring 135 runs. The man of the match was given to JH Kallis.

Delhi overtakes the defenders!

Gambir and Sewag started the match for Delhi daredevils. The openers failed do well and lost their wickets early. AB de Villiers played well for his team, scoring 79 runs in 55 balls and held the inning in place. The team made 150 runs finally with the loss of 3 wickets. MM Patel picked 2 wickets for Rajasthan. The royals stared their innings with Quiney and Smith who lost their wicket very quickly. Ojha played for 37 runs and all the players lost their wicket. Finally the Rajasthan made 136 runs with the loss of 9 wickets. The Delhi daredevils won the match easily, and the man of the match was given to AB de Villers.

Easy win for Punjab

This was a day and night thrilling match between Delhi daredevils and kings XI Punjab. Gambier and Sehwag opened the batting and failed to do well. The middle order also dint play well and got only a few runs for the team. The team just made 120 runs with the run rate of just 6.00. Lee picked 3 wickets, Iran Pathan and Sreesanth picked 2 wickets for the Punjab team. It was a easy target for Punjab, Katich made 20 runs while Yuvraj made 43 runs. Sangakkara made 21 runs in 11 balls. Maharoof took 2 wickets for the team. It was a easy win for the Punjab. Bret lee was given the man of the match award.

Delhi clinches the thriller

Deccan charges won the toss and elected to field first. Gambier and Warner started the match for Delhi team. The openers did not perform well. However, Dilshan and Villiers played well and scored well. Karthik played well for his 44 runs with just 23 balls. For the loss of 7 wickets Delhi scored 173 runs with 8.65 runs per over. Deccan chargers started their second inning with Suman and Gilchrest. Gilchrest scored well for 64 runs with just 33 runs left. Others batman failed to play well. Deccan chargers lost their entire wickets. Delhi Daredevils won by 12 runs. It was a thrilling match it was a delight to watch the match.

Clean sweep for Delhi

The daredevils won the toss and chose to field first. The Kolkata started the batting with McCullum and Ganguly scored 44 runs while McCullum made just 6 runs. The middle order batsman did not perform well and made just 123 runs with a run rate of 6.15 runs per over. Nehra and Nannes picked up two wickets, while Mishra picked 3 wickets. With the target of 124 runs, Gambhir and Warner opened the match for Delhi. Warner scored 36 runs; Villiers scored 40 runs and led the team to success. With the loss of 3 wickets in 17.1 over they reached the target easily. The man of the match was given to Mishra of the Delhi daredevils.

Bowlers turn to lead

Mumbai Indian won the toss and chose to bat first with Bravo only scored 35 runs other lost their early wickets and landed up with the score of 116 runs with the run rate of 5.80 runs per over. Bhatia took 3 wickets and Nannes and Nehra took 2 wickets each for the daredevils. Gambhir and Warner opened the batting for Delhi team and reach the target very easily. AB De Villers took 50 runs in 38 balls and lead the team to victory. The bowler outperformed the batsman this time and Nehra was given the man of the match award. It was a fabulous game to enjoy.

Delhi Takes over Kolkata

The toss was won by Kolkata knight riders who first chose to bat first. Knight riders opening batsman Van Wek scored 74 runs and Mc Colum, Hodge and Henriques played well and contributed 30 odd runs each. The reached to a score of 154 with 7.70 runs per over with a loss of 3 wickets. Sangwan took 2 wickets for his team. Gambhir and Warner opened the match for Delhi Daredevils Gambhir and Warner took 71 runs and 36 runs each. They reached the score of 157 runs easily with 8.26 runs per over. With just a fall of 1 wicket, Delhi won the game. Gambhir was the man of the match.

Jakati's Golden Ball
Posted on April 13th, 2009 No commentsThe 26th match of Indian Premier League was held at New Wanderers stadium, Johannesburg between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi daredevils. Dhoni won the toss for Chennai Super Kings and elected to bat first. The top order batsmen displayed classics with their bat and piled a huge total of 163 for loss of all wickets in just 18.3 over. Delhi daredevils who managed a decent start with Warner scoring 52 started losing wickets on one side. Later Karthik added another 50 more. With Three golden ducks Delhi stumbled and was able to score only 145 in 20 over. Jakati who took 3 wickets including that of Warner and Karthik was judged as the man of the match.
