The buzz word in Indian cricket arena is ‘Rendezvous Sports World’. Nobody has ever heard about the name Rendezvous Sports World in cricket field. Rendezvous Sports World is actually a consortium five members including Rendezvous group, Parini developers, Anand Shah Estate, Anchor Earth Private Limited and Film Waves. Although this is a consortium of five companies, the name sounds more to be taken from Rendezvous Group. A quick search about Rendezvous Group revealed some information. These may be really about the Rendezvous Group that we are talking about. Rendezvous Group has a chain of restaurants which are mostly based in UK. Now the immediate question comes to everyone mind is why and how did, Rendezvous Group came to cricket and IPL. It is said that Minister for External Affairs played a key role in bringing these five members together into IPL. Rendezvous Sports have opted to keep their base as Kochi. This is again a surprising choice for a few. The answer given by the Director of Rendezvous Sports is that they are sure that this new team will change the situation in Kerala. That’s all that I could collect about Rendezvous Sports and the new Kochi team. Let’s keep our fingers crossed to know the name that would be opted by this new team.

Security was one of the biggest issues around Indian Premier League season 2. Right from the beginning, media made it big than it actually is. First conflict started with the time it was scheduled. The matches were coinciding with Indian General Elections. Initially, Government of India refused to provide security for Indian Premier League matches in India as there was shortage for security personals. Board of Control for Cricket in India was left with two options, either it has to change time or schedule it outside India. BCCI opted for the second one, as it can’t find suitable time in international Cricket.
